“The life you want” is a crowd favourite. But not many people know how to make it. So today I’m revealing secret ingredients that are easy to find and combine.
No prior experience in the kitchen is needed. So let’s begin.
Ingredients
1 serving of Spirituality
“The quality of being concerned with the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things.” It’s paradoxical – but the way to obtain material success is through your consciousness. All things, whether tangible or intangible, are thought into being before they are. To obtain the life you want, you must first envision it, then you must believe it will come. The life you have now is a product of what you have believed about yourself and about the world thus far. Pay attention to what you’re attracted to because it will be attracted to you. Stop giving energy and attention to the things that you don’t want. Energy flows where attention goes.
There is a universal force that listens for our requests, joins the right people together, puts plans into motion, shows us how to find answers, and aligns desire with reality. This force is referred to as the universe, God, and several other names. What’s important to remember is that we are spiritual beings having a physical experience. So create what you want from the inside out.
1 cup of Ingenuity
Be willing to do things differently than they have usually been done. Steve Jobs once said that the persons who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones that do. Be crazy enough to think that you can transform your life because you absolutely can. The difference between the life you have and the life you want, is not the work it takes, it’s your belief in what’s possible.
If you’ve been doing one thing in a particular way for some time with no unique results, why not try another way? Figure out why you are resistant to change. Is it a religious belief? Is it customary to your culture? Is it your own fear or doubt? Is it a skill you feel you need, but don’t yet have? Why can’t you learn? You learned how to walk, talk, read and write without a fight, so did your learning capacity diminish with age? Challenge limitations that you are given and that you give to yourself.
A gallon of Distraction Elimination
Distance yourself from people and things that are going in a contrary direction than you. Unfollow social media accounts that are consistent with your current way of life. Read that again. Fast (do without what you can do without). Spend less quality time with persons who don’t share or support your goals in life. Why? Energy is transferable. Your mind is being infiltrated on an unconscious level with every interaction you have. Every message, song, and conversation that you have throughout the day is deposited on to your spirit and shapes your reality for that time.
Turn off instant messenger notifications while you work, exercise, cook or accomplish any task that’s important to you. Stay off social media altogether if need be. Put your ringer on silent as well. Set a work or transformation schedule and stick to it – whether that be one hour of exercise a day at 5:00 am, or one hour of reading every evening before bed. Set clear boundaries and ensure the persons closest to you are aware of what they are. They’ll cooperate. Try it.
A pint of Patience
Create timelines but don’t marry them. They may change. Some efforts may not bring you the results you hope for. Some efforts will bring you results that are unexpected. You will have to wait. You will have to abandon some ideas and develop new ones. Everyone will not cooperate with you. The definition of patience is the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset. It’s a skill that’s required for life.
Patience says “I will do my best to make it happen today, but if my best efforts fail, tomorrow is another day.” You not only have to be patient with other people; you have to be patient with yourself. You can’t rush greatness. And here’s a little secret: When our plans aren’t working as quickly as we want, and things continue to fall apart, it’s usually because they should. Why? Because something extraordinary is happening on our behalf instead. So always, always ascribe to patience.
An ounce of Humility
…A mild ingredient that packs a big punch. Be willing to learn. To know nothing is to know everything. In other words, be conscious that no one on earth knows all there is to know. Therefore, be willing to learn from others. Also be willing to learn from the mistakes that you have made. Look at what and who has been of service to you and invest in those things. When plans begin to come together, remember your humble beginnings.
Directions:
Combine all these ingredients. Don’t substitute. Shake them up. Stir them.
This meal is best served on the side of enthusiasm and resilience.
